Teams Adoption: Maximize Collaboration, Empower Success

Teams is the new chat-based workspace in Office 365 and happens to also be the fastest growing app in the O365 suite right now. With all the integrated communication, knowledge management and collaboration it provides; Microsoft Teams is THE central hub for teamwork in Office 365, empowering organizations of all sizes to collaborate with ready to go features and customization options.
With great features come a great number of questions, so this session will cover how to implement and adopt Microsoft Teams. In this session we will look at strategies organizations can use to foster communication and build brand awareness. This session will show you how to get the most out of your investment and provide real tips to take back to the office. If your organization is currently considering deploying or just starting your journey to Microsoft Teams, this session is for you.

Develop a Game Plan to Migrate Content from Legacy SharePoint

It’s time. Your organization has an opportunity move your legacy SharePoint to a new and improved system. The verdict is clear: You need to migrate content out of your legacy SharePoint, the sooner, the better.

Now you need a game plan. Inevitably, you’re thinking about just how hard and drawn out this kind of content migration can be, especially if you have years of content under management. But it is possible to realize a well-ordered migration that keeps the pain to a minimum.

An introduction to using Power Apps with SharePoint Lists. I will focus on creating a new canvas app that submits to a SharePoint list, then editing and reviewing the data in the app.

Process Innovation Beyond the Workflows

When most people implement process automation and improvement, they have developers use lists, workflows, forms, and dashboards to build business applications, which is an inefficient way to increase efficiency. Creating a culture of Process Excellence involves a paradigm shift that involves end users as much as the process owners, and empowers power users to automate and digitize without incurring additional technical debt. In this talk, we will be discussing best practices and patterns for managing and improving business processes from the ground up and driving adoption of the process improvement mindset.

Teams & SharePoint: What Modern Workplace implementation model will work best for your organization?

SharePoint Online is the foundation for a broad array of content management, collaboration, and workgroup applications. Microsoft Teams offers a robust and popular platform for everyday communication and collaboration needs.  How much should you lean into one technology or the other?  What are the deciding factors that might steer you one way or another?  Or should you just go all-in on both?  Join Chris Nelson for a discussion on successful implementation patterns and when you should favor one over another.

The future of ERP

Now the systems formally known as ERP are all in the cloud, where to from here? What does the future look like for the these seemingly monolithic programs, and how will it impact those who sell, buy and use them?

How one man migrated a classic Intranet to modern.

This session will cover the step by step process in which I migrated our classic hierarchy Intranet into a flat modern Intranet with limited resources and funding. I will go into details on how to build site scripts, and what tool to best use for permission and data migration. I will be going over how we created the migration plan, the site structure, governance and training. This session will by no means show the perfect, or even best way to migrate from classic to modern, but I will show how we did it successfully. This will be a cook book of how to migrate from classic to modern. I'll let you add or remove ingredients to best fit your tastes.

Automating Premium Service (Power BI) in Azure from 3rd Party System

"Need to use a premium service in Azure however budget has you tiedown from purchasing the whole service? Need to turn it on and off when used only? Do you want to enable your Business Owners to be empowered however still know when it is on and off for auditing? Well this session for you then. Demonstrated will be using a 3rd party service request system to kickoff their workflow which will then kickoff Azure. Using webhooks, runbooks, app logic and PS we will review the whole request cycle to turn on, then off, premium services offered in Power BI.

We will get as deep in the technical as the audience permits while still focused on the business process and need to control cost while still have accountability in play from the requestors!"

Which Tool is Right for Which Business Process and/or Automation Requirements

Power Automate is a great fit for many automation problems. But there's more than one kind of automation problem, and some business process solutions require more than just automation. Some automation problems need transaction support. Others need to manage content. Some involve data harvesting. Or systems administration. Or data synchronization. Different use cases need different types of tools. There's also a whole class of applications that focus on much more than automated activity, factoring in roles, assets, user interfaces, security, task logistics, strategy and tactics, and more. We'll talk about that, too.

This session is all about making sure you use a hammer to pound nails and a screwdriver to twist bolts; we'll mention some third-party offerings in addition to Microsoft-delivered tech, but we won't play favorites.

SharePoint Designer 2013 supports it, as do offerings by ISVs like WebCon and Nintex. This session will start by explaining how stage-based designs and processes work, move on to why they're often far better than classic sequential processes, and conclude with examples of how to build and run such solutions. It's the most useful workflow "secret" you can possibly learn.
